Sunny Sunday

Well I'm improving - 2 posts in 1 month! Lovely sunny weather today! Why couldn't we have had this weather in August?! 2 Saturdays running I've been to 12 hour crops!! Last Saturday was MJ's crop near Newbury where I did the Then and Now LO which was a pre crop challenge for the crop I went to yesterday. It's always a FAB day at MJ's crop, lovely atmosphere and seriously yummy food. Yesterday I went to a new place and met up with a girl I chat to on UKS. 2 Classes yesterday taught by Cleo Jarvis - I love doing Cleo's classes. I haven't finished the one project yet but the other one is Simply Beautiful St Lucia. Has pics of when we went there many years ago. The title comes from St Lucia's advertsing and if you listen to Classic FM will be familair to you at the moment. The circle with the litlle 'windows' rotates. The papers for this LO are MME which I really love. The papers for the Then and Now LO are bright, funky We R Memory Keepers whiteout Collection. I even rather bravely for me did a little stamping on the one!!

Update and Crafty Things.

Well summer is over and life getting back to the usual routine. Terrible summer weather wise and our week in West Wales was a real washout. I have done lots of crafty things though and been to several crops. One of the projects I did on my holiday is the wall hanging in the photo which was another of Cleo Jarvis's lovely kits. It was great fun to do. Very hard to get a good picture of it but hope you can see what it's like and get the 'general idea'. The altered band aid tin I had from Cleo Crafts with my last kit. The little cards inside all have the addresses and birthdays of the girls on a team I chat with on UKS.

Creations and a rejection

Haven't blogged for a few days so time to catch up! Went to a fab crop on Sat with 2 of my teamies. Great day and the food was just so yummy at the crop! Did 2 DLO's and 2 SLO's. The Fun Fair pages are a bit 'in your face' but then so is a Fun Fair! Page 1 has hidden little book with more pics and journalling. Then my Mum playing DS3's drums! She had such fun! 'Forties Class' is a school pic taken in c 1941 and includes my Dad. Such a clear pic for such an old one. And then an LO of DS3, pics taken a while ago! Then today got a standard job rejection from HC but also new kit from Cleo Crafts which begged to be used immediately. Cut up all the lovely ribbons but think the results were worth it.
Hopefully some time soon I'll get the hang of working out how to publish the pics and text rather better!

Creations and an Interview

Two creations to share - another altered letter rack! am loving doing these, this one done using pp from Cleo Crafts in NI - DH and DS3 say this is the best one I've done! One LO done for the weekly challenge on UKS, don't often do the challenges if they involve following a sketch but think this one worked quite well.
Went for an interview last eve for a P/T temp job. Talk about a long hard but actually very fair interview! Heaven knows these days what you have to go through to get a 'high earning post'. First a written test, then had to do a 2 minute presentation on PVA glue!! After that the usual type of interview questions but rather more and involved than I've had before. An hour and a quarter later I was free to leave. Phew! They will let me know next week.

A Busy Weeekend!

It’s been a busy weekend! Went to my local crop yesterday. Had a great day! Yummy lunch as they always do there and some new people to ‘play’ with who were really nice and friendly. Managed to do 4 LO’s! All from kits. 3 done with a kit from Rebecca’s Scrapbooking Stash called Act Naturally and one ‘class’ type kit from ScrapAngels. That is the one called ‘Little Boy’. I followed the instructions and as always came home and showed DS3 my creations – he said the one called ‘Little Boy’ was the best. These talented designers are obviously in the right job!!!!
Hey Ho! Had fun though using the other kit and doing ‘my own thing!’
Been out a to a sort of Hyper Garden Centre today! Nice time and fun to go somewhere different. Then had to go and get a new dishwasher as ours finally decided it was time to ‘die’ – given us many years service to so can’t complain!
Now a new week to ahead – wonder what it will bring!!

Hey!

An LO today of my DGS. he is growing so fast! Here he is sitting up on his own and playing. I used Basic Grey Oh Baby Boy papers, an assortment of buttons and some PM felt letters and 2 American Crafts arrows.

I also started making today a mini book - A to Z of Me. I'm using some papers left from some kits from Cleo Crafts - lots of pink! and it's going well.

AND Hey guess what!! I've got a job interview on Monday!! I only applied as a spur of the moment decision! I must add first that this job (if I get it - probably won't as I'm not my best at interviews - I waffle too much!!) it would be in addition to the MDSA job. It's a temp job for 12 weeks (there are some part time permanent jobs but given they all involve working on Saturday and I don't want to commit to permanently working Saturdays, but feel I could do so for 12 weeks) It's a bit of a long way to travel but as it's only twice a week (Wed eve and all day Sat) I think I can do the travelling. I'm so pleased to get the interview!! It's in Hobbycraft!! I need to do some seriouys prep for the interview now.

Two LO's

Two LO's today, the one called 2 Little Boys I am very happy with. Both pages done using a K &Co kit from Gotta Craft. How time flies! The smiling little boy is now the Daddy of the baby in the Zzz LO! Started my MDSA job today and it went well. The people are very friendly.

Another Creative Day.

Another creative day today! I used a kit I had been saving from the lovely Cleo Jarvis (Cleo's Undomesticated Scrapping Bliss) Cleo gives great instructions which is good if you follow them and don't misread the measurements - I started off by cutting the pp all wrong! Ahhhh! however I sorted it out in the end and made the LO along Cleo's guidelines. The little book I had to adapt a bit with the pp I had left but I got it sorted in the end! Quite fiddly to make but great fun. The little pockets all have cards in with scrapping ideas on them. Pics don't really do it justice as my camera isn't keen on close ups. Need to go and clean and tidy my rather messy craft area now!

Altered Letter Rack

I bought a plain alterable letter rack in Hobbycarft today and have spent the afternoon playing. I'm very happy with the finished result.

Portsmouth

We had a lovely weekend in Portsmouth. The weather was amazing. DH enjoyed his trip on the tall ship. Mum, DS3 and I went shopping on the Sat morn at the Gunwharf Quays. DS3 loved the shops there and cost me a fortune! The Kipling shop was wonderful! After lunch on the harbourside we went to the dockyard and explored Victory and the Mary Rose. Then we went on a harbour trip which was great as when we docked we came into the harbour at the same time as the tall ship. After checking in at the quirky B&B I had booked we went for a lovely meal in Southsea followed by a visit to the beach where I paddled for 10 minutes. Early on Sunday morning we went round many of Portsmouth's 'back streets' and found the house where my Mum's Mum was born in 1901 which was fascinating and my Mum was very happy to see where her Mum was born. After that we went up the Spinnaker Tower - wow the views were amazing. We travelled back via Port Solent, rather disappointed with that visit as it is rather down market now. We called in to DS2 on the way home and had a BBQ. It was a really good weekend. 2 pics - one of the tower and one of the tall ship.

News and Creations from the first week in June

This week's creations are a little mini book called 'PARTY' which has pics of my birthday celebration this year with my family. Then a DLO of my DGS which I'm very pleased with - he was looking at a parrot in a cage at the time and I love the different expressions on his face. Lastly a very old photo of DS2 on a little car.
News this week is that I have got myself a job! Only a very little job but it's a start and may lead on to other things. I'm going to be an MDSA a couple of days a week. It's not far to travel, only the next village and the staff are lovely. I start in two weeks time when the CRB checks are completed.
We are off to Portsmouth for the weekend and I'm really looking forward to it apart from the crack of dawn getaway tomorrow. DH is going on a tall ships day which I bought him for Christmas tomorrow. Mum, DS3 and I are going to the Gunwharf Quays tomorrow and maybe to see HMS Victory.

31st May 2008

No finished creations to show today. I did start making two mini books though at the Mod Scraps crop. The crops at Mod Scraps are great - there is always a lovely 'buzzy' atmosphere and it was a very enjoyable day. I also one a prize!! I NEVER win anything so it was such a treat to win a set of stamps in the 'raffle' - Autumn Leaves journalling stamps, they are really gorgeous.

30th May 2008

Today I have altered this little bird house. Twas a plain, boring house from Woolies that cost £1.87. I used some 2 scoops stash and a little bling. I'm very pleased with it.

29th May 2008

With quite a lot of input from my son I now have a video clip on here! It's from my fav musical and was the inspiration behind my blog's name. Had may hair cut too and done some scrapping. Produced 2 LO's today. YUM was done using a scrapangels class page kit with a few changes by me and PlayTime was done using scraps and some leftover letters from the scrapangels kit. I like the class page kits they do as there's nearly always a new thecnique to learn but they can usually be put together fairly quickly. The papers are always good too.

Here is a little pic of the little acrylic album I made at the Paperarts crop on 24th May. The class was taught by the very talented Cleo Jarvis. I'm really pleased with my finished album which has pics of a special birthday celebration I had a little while ago.

28th May 2008

Well I've finally got myself a blog with a little help from my youngest son! Now I need to decide what to do with it and learn how to use it!
